Message from UUACO President

Welcome Message from UUACO President-Betty Ahemigisha

Dear UUACO Members, Friends, and Supporters,

Welcome to our website! I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as President of the United Ugandans Association of Colorado. Thank you for trusting me with this responsibility and for believing that, together, we can write the next chapter of our community’s story with courage, unity, and purpose.

Since 1999, UUACO has served over 3,500 Ugandans of all ages who call Colorado their home. We have celebrated births, graduations, weddings, and achievements. We have stood together in times of loss, illness, and hardship. We have taught our children to dance to Ugandan drums under Colorado skies, and we have reminded one another that even far from home, we are not alone.

Looking ahead, UUACO has many exciting plans in the pipeline. We are developing new youth leadership and mentorship programs, expanding skills and entrepreneurship trainings, strengthening our welfare and emergency support systems, and building deeper partnerships across Colorado to better showcase Ugandan talent, culture, and innovation. These initiatives will roll out in phases, with your input and participation at every step.

As your President, I commit to leading with mutual respect, transparency, accountability, and an open door. As usual, I will work with our Board, volunteers, and partners to strengthen our programs, elevate our youth, support families, and deepen our engagement with the wider Colorado community. Above all, I will strive to protect and grow the unity that has carried us this far. I encourage each of you to actively participate in community initiatives, contributing your ideas, talents, and insights to help drive our shared vision of progress and development.

Let us remain united in purpose and spirit, for it is together that we will build a more inclusive, resilient, and stronger UUACO. I look forward with great optimism to the journey ahead and the meaningful impact we will achieve as one community.Always remember, this is not about any single administration or individual leader; in the eyes of others, we will either succeed or fall short together as UUACO.

Thank you once again for your confidence in me, your participation, and your continued support. May we walk this journey together—stronger, more united, and more hopeful than ever.

With gratitude and service,

Betty Ahemigisha,
President,
United Ugandans Association of Colorado (UUACO)
